Fubo CTV Video Playback Improvement

Although the player experience and visual design had already been improved, we identified additional opportunities to further enhance the video playback experience, such as the video seeking experience. This project focuses on uncovering those opportunities through real user scenarios and proposing thoughtful, user-centered improvements to the playback controls.

Results & impact

  • The Key Moments feature is now one of Fubo's main features.

  • Peak Take Rate: 9.9% (reached on Nov 2, 2025).

  • User Availability: Scaled from 1.2K to 44K, stabilizing at 5K–15K daily users.

  • Engagement: Consistent upward trend since it was launched, exceeding 1.6K daily users.

  • Currently available in DVR, the feature is planned to expand to the Live experience.

  • Following strong reception on TV, the feature is set to expand to Mobile and Web.

  • Since launch, customer service complaints related to the Seek Start Indicator have been eliminated.
