Channel App
Channel App is a new concept for the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) on Samsung Smart TV. Traditional EPGs relied solely on text, making it difficult for users to quickly understand program information. This app introduces visual elements such as thumbnails to deliver clearer and more accurate content details.
The app also enhances the viewing experience with personalized content recommendations based on user history. Users can easily search for programs using filters for channel, genre, and time, enabling more convenient and intuitive TV navigation.

Traditional Electronic Program Guides (EPGs) relied heavily on text-based lists, making it difficult for users to quickly understand program information and discover content. This often led to slow decision-making and a frustrating browsing experience on TV.

The Channel App reimagines the EPG as a visual-first experience. Programs are displayed with thumbnails to communicate content at a glance, while personalized recommendations are generated based on users’ viewing history. Advanced filters—such as channel, genre, and time—enable users to easily search and browse content.

Users can discover and select content faster with less effort. The visual and personalized approach improves content discoverability, enhances engagement, and creates a more intuitive and enjoyable TV viewing experience.
